AnswersHow do I get started?All you need is a story idea and photos to get started. Email us your photos after you place your order at info@mycustomstory.com. Click here for a getting started guide and email us if you need help getting started. I do not have digital photos, can I still create a book?Yes, you can mail us prints and we will scan them in. I want to send prints, will I get my photos back?Yes, your photos will be sent back with your book. Where do I mail my prints to?Click here for our mailing address. I have photos from a professional photographer, can I include those in the book?Photos from professional photographers are copyrighted and we would need to copy them to use them in the book so we cannot use photos from a professional photographer unless you send a signed consent to reproduce form to us. Can I choose the fonts I want?If you have specific fonts you want to use, let us know which fonts you would like on each page and if we have that font we will be happy to accommodate your request. If you do not have a preference, we will choose fonts for you and you can always change them after you receive the digital proof. Can I choose the color of the text in the story?Yes, you can choose the color of the text, let us know what you would like when you submit the order form. If you do not have a preference, we will choose the text color for you (usually black or white) and you can always change them after you receive the digital proof. How many pages does the book have? Can it have more or less pages?The book has 10 interior pages, a front cover, and a back cover totaling 12 pages. Some storylines (i.e. Counting Books) use only the 10 interior pages for the story and some storylines (i.e. Favorite Things) use the covers in the storyline. At this time it can only have 12 pages including the covers. What size is the book? Can it be bigger or smaller?The book is approximately 4 in x 5 in. At this time we only make the board books in one size. How long will it take to receive my book?It takes approximately 10 - 14 days from the time we receive the completed order form, photos, and payment to create a book. Please allow 2 weeks for orders received in December. Rush orders are available. Can I have more than one photo per page?Usually we can accommodate two photos on a page depending on the size of the photo and whether it can be cropped. Feel free to send us the photos to get a definite response. Do you ship outside the US?Yes. Check out as you normally would inputting your international address in your account in the shopping cart for Canada, Australia, and the UK.The shopping cart will automatically calculate the shipping difference for your order. Email us for shipping rates and times to other countries. I received a gift certificate. How do I use it?Gift certificates cover the entire price of the book and shipping. All you need to do is select a storyline (or write your own) and email us with your name, gift certificate number, and order form. Can I pay by credit card if I do not have a paypal account?Yes. On the payment screen above the "Paypal Login" section, click on the "Click here" button next to the words "If you do not currently have a PayPal account". This will take you to a screen to enter your credit card number. I placed my order what do I do now?After you have placed your order in the shopping cart you will recieve an email confirmation of your order. You will need to email or mail your photos to My Custom Story. Please label your digital photos for the page they should appear on or if you are mailing the photos please number the prints on the back 1-12. When mailing your photos please include a printed copy of your order reciept or write your order # down on a slip of paper to include with your photos. If you email your photos please include your order number in the subject line. |
